Here's one for ya: Which of your guitars, if any, has traveled the farthest? My 1111-4 has been across the U.S. twice, up and down the East Coast, across the Atlantic and around the Med (on a boat) with stops in Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Spain. It's been to England and to several islands of the Caribbean. Also down the West Coast, through Mexico and central America and through the Panama Canal. And BTW, the finish still doesn't have a single crack. (Although the neck was broken by airline gorillas in Florida.)

2005 ES started its journey in New Hartford, CT -> West Coast, USA (somewhere) -> Queensland, Australia -> Sydney, Australia -> California -> New Hartford -> California -> Sydney -> Queensland again, then up and down the east coast a few times.

Oddball still wins.

My 88 Collector's has been all over the United States with me fom Ca to FL.
It has gone on every deployment I've been on in the military with the exception of Desert Storm and this one, and has actually "set foot" in the following countries/places; Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Crete, Greece, The Isle of Rhodes, Israel, Turkey, I think that's all of 'em, and the following Major Oceans/Seas; Pacific (if you count playing it at the very end of the pier in Oceanside, CA), Atlantic, Mediterranean, & Red.

The question should not be "where have you taken your guitar", rather "where has your guitar taken you?"

My 1117 has lived in Paris for a year, been all around Europe (Italy, Greece, Germany, Netherlands). A highlight was jamming with a train full of Russians from Moscow up to Petersburg. Two years ago it was Finland and Estonia. Since 1974 I have "commuted" from NY to SF twice a year every year--with the 1117--; since 1992 from Ann Arbor to SF every year, twice a year; since 1998 from Chicago to SF more like once a year now. Been out to Canada, Washington State and all through the Southwest: Kentucky to Houston across New Mexico, Arizona, Mexico. 1117 has travelled!

"Stevie Ray" is a very cool guy. The astronaut corps has a long running rock band called "Max Q" (maximum dynamic pressure). Steve is currently the lead guitarist.

I feel so unworldly! My 1617 has been in 41 different states with me, but it has never been out of the country. Except for Mexico and Bermuda, I'VE never been out of the country. But I do know some French songs, some Spanish songs, some German songs, and even an Australian song. Does that count?

I had an acoustic guitar that lived with me in the US, then lived with me in Paris for nine months and the south of France for three, then back in the US, where it died several years later. That's it.

My guitars couldn't golf, ski, or surf, so they never went anywhere with me.

I had to live vicariously through Jerome's guitar - Paris to Lannion, Fr., back to Paris, New Jersey then Ct. Since it started in Ct., it traveled much further than I did.

I drove truck for 10 years with my 1985 collectors in the top bunk for company. Together, we logged over 1.3 million miles. My Mid 70s Yamaha classical made three navy cruises with me. The O obviously has more miles, but the Yamaha has some great tales to tell. :)

how far have my guitars traveled ??? hah.

my guitars are like my wife

i only allow them to travel from the bedroom to the kitchen to the bathroom to the laundry room to the family room and then on the weekends i even let her carry one or two of them out to my pickup truck so i can go out and jam with the ofc men like brad, brian, bob and rich .
those are my rules around my house and she knows who wears the pants around this house.

oh sh*t the wife just came in uh oh

""mute mute mute mute mute mute mute mute mute""

but honestly sweetheart i was just kidding about putting this on my guitar board

please why don't you go back into the family room and find us a nice place to go on vacation at.

i hope to talk to you ofc'ers later if im still alive. GWB  :D

1615 PACEMAKER: On tour from 1975 to 1988 through 43 US States, Mexico, and Canada 365 days per year; 6 to 7 nights per week plus daily practice and occasional double bookings: three gigs in the same day on several occasions in 1987 going from 102 degrees outside to air conditioned clubs...hardly even needed a tuning...in 1975 while living in Yuma and Phoenix AZ, it also rode in my Harley Davidson Electra Glide's saddlebag w/ the neck of the case bungeed to my sissy bar...and two cases of beer and ice in the other (w/small drain holes drilled in the bottom...)

1758-6p Elite 12: on tour from 1988 to 1999: 44 US states, Mexico, Canada, Switzerland. Germany, Austria, and Belarus...Russian customs had never seen anything like it and requested a concert on the spot...over the next 6 years, they let me in the country w/out a check...pretty cool...

Baby Taylor all mahogany...took to Belarus in 2001 as the Airlines changed the rules on bringing full size guitars without checking them as baggage..again, the security guards were very impresssed...

I travel with my headless electric guitar. It's been to such exotic places as the Red Lion hotel in Elko, Nevada and the Holiday Inn in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We've taken a variety of guitars to the fabled shores of New Jersey. In high school I played an impromptu concert in the lounge of a Vermont ski lodge back when I was a much better singer but much worse guitarist. Some little kids gave me a fan letter, my one and only, afterward.

Y'all have much better stories than I do.

I took my 1187-7 outside, one day, and played in my garden.

Best regards,
Kurt

And, yes, my 1187-2 has been to a beergarden in munich:

...and some other places:

Boy, really makes me miss Bavaria...

Worked for around 10 years commuting between US bases in Garmisch and Berchtesgaden;

Munich beergardens were always the logical rest stop.. :D
