| Haven't tried it because my phone is probably too old but it might be OK. Has a lot of different tunings too for open etc.

There's no doubt better ones out there but I personally find the iphone app pretty good, at least to my ears. Definately better than the ovation pre-amp tuners. But every ones ears are different. Call me old fashioned, but at home I usually try to just tune to the piano. |

Location: Round Rock, TX | There's an app that I have on my iPhone by Peterson called, I think, Strobophone. Anyway it's a nice strobe tuner with input boost and a noise filter. It works well and is especially handy since if I'm out, I've got it. Oh yeah, my iPhone is 2G and it works great. |

Now that I'm approaching the saggy end of middle aged I'm finding my ears are starting to let me down, so a good iPhone tuner is on the cards. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | just get a cheapie chromatic tuner, I got a Seiko, Debanjo has a Korg, just something with a line in and a vu-meter. Then get a Seiko STM20 tuner clip, it will fit any head stock. Now you can always get in tune and you'll be within 3 cents. It really makes a difference, if the G is 3 cents flat and the B 3 cents sharp it will sound bad and with the meter you can see that and fix it.
I've been using this for about a year and nothing will replace it. |
