This is the most interesting expression of this type of capo, I've seen...

Has a lot of possibilities.

Think I'll be sticking with my elliots.

I sell tons of them. It's basically a refinement of the late Jeff Hickey's Third Hand Capo. It addresses most of the Third Hand's shortcomings, such as it does not have to be removed from the neck to select which strings are to be capoed or not.
It has to placed very precisely on the neck and string spacing needs to be spot-on, so I suspect it could still be a pain for use onstage if you need to keep the pace going, but it's a great tool to mess around with.

Or you could just learn to play the guitar.

Partial capos intrigue me. Where can one learn how to use one artistically?

My good friend Randall Williams has produced the current definitive tuition material for partial capos. He has 2 DVD's and a book which provide logical, intuitive roadmaps to using partial capos. Harvey Reid wrote a couple of great books for the Third Hand which I think are still available. Harvey is now using my companies product in his live set ( and references it in his recent Guitar Player mag interveiw) Trace Bundy takes the concept to extremes and is worth investigating
