Joined: November 2004 Posts: 4413 | I was trying to be gentle first time. What I really meant was why would you title a thread "I Hate This Kid"? Could have said "Makes me want to give up" or This will blow your mind" or a dozen other things. I just thought it was a really shithead thing to write on a public forum. Call me sensitive.

I've always hated that kid. If he were here in front of me, I'd give him dirty looks until he cried. There it is, out in the open. I'm not proud of these things, but sometmes you just have to be honest and say what you feel.

That kid probably doesn't even have a girlfriend. And TV and video games. He's probably wasted his whole young life playing the guitar when he could have spent it in front of a TV, Xbox or computer like a normal kid.

I've admired this kid since I 'found' him several years ago on YT. I've truly enjoyed Sungha's 'maturing' since. One of his advances is more feeling vs. less obvious concentration. Oh, and his hands... by now he should be able to palm a medicine ball! "Sensitive"... yeah me too... I love this kid's talent! BTW, if GaryB truly hated this kid, he wouldn't have posted the link...

I have heard many musicians comment on how much the Hated all the practice that they did as a kid. But now they appreciate it and have usually taken their music in a different direction for what they were taught. I could probably benefit from a teacher, a parent, or a mentor, who would force me to practice.

The supposed theory that kids whose moms listened to classical music while pregnant had smart kids was debunked, but actually playing music helped kids develop into smart adults. That explains why my daughter is so much smarter than me.
