I have always wanted an Ovation to take along with me in my truck as I don't want to mess up a more expensive guitar. I have looked thru your forum here and have not found any info on this model. Is this one to stay away from or would any of you recommend it. Thanks

The prices have dropped because Ovation is moving production of the standard models to Korea. They are a good deal while they last.

I love my other guitars but things can get bumped around a bit in the cab of a semi truck. I have never nicked the top of a guitar but the backs and side have suffered on my last truck guitar which was a Guild D-40 which is now a pile of scrap wood. Went home for an emergancy forgot to take the guitar out and it sat in the truck for 3 days in -20 deg weather. Need less to say it was destroyed.

Everytime I get the itch I go to guitar center and play a bunch of wood boxes, Taylors, Taks, Ibanez. About 10-15 minutes worth of wood boxes and I usually end up thinking "Gosh! I really love my 1771LX". Can't be beat for the price.
