Location: Sydney, Australia | I decided to plug in AJ's Custom Legend (which I'm baby sitting). Nothing, nada. Given that the previous strings looked like they'd been there ever since the previous owner bought it, I'm guessing the battery is too.
I can see why they did away with this method. After loosening the screw on the outside and taking all the tension out of the strings, I was able to get this little puppy outside where I could see it:
Sorry for the cruddy mobile phone photo. I presume there's a 9v battery inside this, but I couldn't get it open. Can someone confirm that the top just slides back (and that there is actually a battery in this little box) before I apply more than the usual amount of force. I'm guessing the battery has leaked and sealed this puppy up tightly. |

I am not sure if it only slides one direction though. You'll have to examine it.
I only pushed mine and it opened easily, so I didn't experiment. |

Location: Sydney, Australia | Thanks OMA. I guess it's all gummed up inside, might have to get some tools so I can apply pressure without running the risk of putting a great big scratch in the guitar. |
