Location: Montana | I am the latest caretaker of the guitar formerly owned by OMA and Scott L (some good mojo built up there) and I'm trying to get the tone worked out. First step was to remove and re-glue the nut (guys if you heard any buzzing sounds that's where it was coming from). Then I put on some Daddario 12s to try to get more bass, which helped. Now I want to soften the pick and finger sounds. I have identical strings on my Elite and have never thought pick/finger sounds were excessive but on the CV68 they are very prominent. So my idea is to try some Dadd flat top strings. Any other suggestions?
Oh and I should say, this guitar is one of the most comfortable I have ever played. Has all of the things that make a solidbody electric easy to play but with the weight of an acoustic. I could stand and play for hours if my fingers didn't die or my family didn't scream ... |
