I've had a couple (or a few) UTE's, but I would really like to hear one of the 12 strings. I think that would be the ultimate 12er.
Meuti, strum it,... I'm sure we could hear it across the pond. :D

In my opinion the U681-12 is the best Adamas 12. Period. I owned them all side by side - Adamas I, Adamas II and U681-12. The U681-12 had more clarity, more balance to the tone, deeper bottom end, easier playing neck, lighter weight and better electronics. Numero Uno. Only criticism is that the body edge binding is a but sharper on your bicep than the A1 and A2.

I didn't think it was the best Adamas 12 string, but the difference was so slight between in and my
Adamas I 12, that it came down to a matter of personal preference.

It is a great 12 string....

BUT, you can only play one guitar at a time and I'm not without some other nice choices. So it pleases me very much that these fine instruments have found a good home. The Mr. Big shirt alone tells me they are in good hands.

Enjoy them, my friend.

PS - You need to explain to me that whole Chuck Norris thing ...
Thank you Dave. I can completely understand how hard it must have been to say good bye to them. I played the whole night yesterday. They are simply incredible. The 6er seems louder and more bassy then my previous UTE, must be because of the missing electronics. I didn't think it would make that much of a difference, but it is certainly "hearable". I love it. And the 12er... oh my! I can't describe the sound (my neighbors probably can - it got very late yesterday)... It's simply a bomb. I will record some samples and put them on my Ning-Site for everyone to hear.

And the Chuck Norris thing :D Haven't you heard of the "Chuck Norris Facts"? see them here . What you read was the German version. I have a little script that adds one of the facts to every Email I send. Normaly I delete them when I send to someone who doesn't speak German, but I guess I forgot that this time. I hope I didn't confuse you too much :D

Thanks.
Oh what honor! :D I'll joyfully send you the picture.

is that actually a RED one or did the lighting just make the orange look reddish?
It's the baby bunny poo one, I probably put too much color in when working on the photo.

Yeah, The german chuck norris footer is on your emails. I asked a german friend of mine to translate. All he said was "are you REALLY going to send your guitars to this guy?" Ha Ha.

About the acoustic only, people just don't believe it. The difference is very pronounced. That U681 has a solid custom bone saddle and nut which just takes it over the top. If you don't play plugged in, there is no reason to degrade your guitars sound with all that electronic stuff.

Meuti,

Last night down here in the Florida Keys, with an Easterly breeze, I heard some beautiful 'wind chimes'. Was that you?!?!? :D

Hey, Iffi,
If you have heard him, I must have heard him with plugges in my ears, he lives about 50 km (35 miles) from my home in direct east route. Ha ha...

Meuti, congrats....I'm speechless, too.
Very nice guitars!! If you visit me one day, please take the 12's with, I really want to hear it live.
And have a lot of fun with them, my friend.

being somewhat biased I think the best Adamas 12 string is my longneck 2080D (or Fugots former 2080) 12 string.

When Matt Smith played it he said it was a cannon and probably the best he had ever heard or played.

However...in production runs of more than one, the UTE 12 is probably right up there at the top of the heap.

Interesting. Did you put them in, Dave, or was that a custom order option?

Not sure what kind of nut and saddle came with the guitar. But never pass up the opportunity to invest in an upgrade. I had a local luthier here in Phx make them.
