it's worth more if they are original.

Back on topic slightly...

Don't rule out your playing technique. It's been awhile now, but several years ago I had an "intonation" issue that was really odd.

To make a long story short, I was in a two guitar band. We were rehearsing and one chord we were both playing just sounded wrong. After the usual tuning and other trouble-shooting, the other guitarist (an accomplished instructor as well) noticed that my 4th finger (next to the pinky for clarity) was pressing harder than my other fingers. Yeah.. that's a good eye for sure. But THAT was the problem. I was actually pulling one string sharp on Barr chords. It was a rough habit to break. The embarrassment of garnering such a bad habit was easier to get over than correcting the problem. Not even sure how it happened, but as I had usually played in 3-piece bands until then, it never came up.

Easy test is to just really relax and just press enough to play the chord, or have someone else play the same chords and see if they are out of tune for them.

Good advice. I've noticed that, too. I figure my problem might be a combination of many factors. I am actually pressing the third finger a little too hard. That will be indeed a hard habit to break ...
