Hey all, I used to post on this site fairly often; but I've been in and out how often I play my Ovation. However, I was interested in replacing the pickguard for it, as the original owner used a jigsaw to make room for a humbucker. The pickguard has two soapbar pickups and "Viper" engraved on it. Is it possible to call the mothership for a replacement? I don't really mind the cost ($100 would start getting excessive though). Thanks all!!

There are a number of companies that make replacement pickguards that are as good as factory. You can even get colors that weren't originally available. Just search "replacement pickguard" on the interweb.

Did a quick search, but couldn't find the post where someone here had one made in the recent past; even had the proper 'Viper' font etched in.

I think that the Viper with the custom-etched guard was for sale or an eBay item.

You might want to check with "Mr. Ovation" here on the board. He has had many pickguards for sale in the past.
