Greetings, I want to round out my collection with a nylon classical Ovaton. I have a chance to buy a S773 for $389.00 without the case. What's your input? I know I asked before about pricing other guitars and I won't make this a habit I assure you. I just trust your opinion. As always - Thanks Phil

People won't get tired of your asking advice.
I don't know anything 'bout that model but I want a nylon O sometime too.
Stick around, somebody wil chime in on the S773.

I mentioned to someone here that I would love to own a nylon string Adamas (wishful thinking, I know...) and they laughed at me.

The hunt for the elusive nylon string OVATION is one that many here at the OFC are on.

I too, would like to hear the experts opinions on this topic...

Had a prototype Viper Nylon string. Probably one of the easiest playing and best sounding guitars out there. It even sounded good unplugged (just not very loud of course) which was cool for a chambered guitar. I'm really sorry I sold that one, cause if I had to choose "best guitars I've played" that one would be right behind the OFC #2 2080 I have.

Any chance you have a picture of the 'beast' in question, Miles?

Would love to see that...

My 1713 is one of my favorites, but it doesn't get played enough. One reason is that it has a flat, wide fretboard like a regular classical guitar and I don't do barre chords well on those flat, wide necks. The nylon strings sound great with that cedar top and deep bowl, though.

About a year ago, I saw a 70's OVATION nylon string guitar in a music store here in Winnipeg. Not sure which model it was, but it played like butter and they only wanted $250 for it.

It had just come in on trade and I got the impression they didn't know what to do with it or really care to find out that much. They had put it in the section with the 'toys', kid's guitars etc. and it really looked like it wanted a home.

Been kicking myself ever since...

New rule, SEE IT... LIKE IT... BUY IT (and if the voices of accountants grow too loud in your head, they have medications for that now, lol)

Is it that the nut is really wide? Or that that the waist of the body looks REALLY narrow & the cutaway really deep?

Hmmm, something looks different on there? Nice guitar though!!

Small body makes the neck look wide. Remember, that's a Viper not a standard size O.
