(I myself have one in the garage, plugged in. When the power goes out I will still be able to phone.....um, who exactly?)

When I was a kid, if I needed to call my parents, or a friend, I would just pick up the phone, wait for the operator to pick up, and say "this is Miles, I want to talk to my mom, she's at so'n so's house"... Or I need to talk to my friend Russell, and the call would go through. OMA, nobody here is that old! I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about this :(

It was a glorious day when we got our own private line! Miles, were you in a small town? That might explain it.

I must admit, however, that I really like the internet, cell phones, GPS, cable TV and microwave ovens. If that means I'll have to acclimate myself to a new Ovation website, that's a small price to pay.
