It's late and I'm for bed soon enough, but I wanted to check in and say "Hi" to all. Some may remember that I had surgery to free up my trigger thumb two weeks ago. The stitches came out Friday, and I'm pleased to report that, aside from a little stiffness (to be expected after surgery), I once again have full range of motion. The best part was that it gave me the weekend to fingerpick a little before tomorrow. (BTW, I like this redwood nylon string more every time I play it. You should here it in open-D! No buzz, just tone, tone, tone. ) I go in at 10 AM to have a torn rotator cuff repaired. It looks pretty straight forward, but the doc won't give me a straight answer about when I can pick up the guitar again. Hopefully not too long, as the surgery is arthroscopic and the recovery is supposedly much easier than it used to be. Wish me luck folks. And if any of my posts the next few days tend to ramble more than usual or drift into the "far side of sense" category, blame the pain meds. :p Speaking of which, my fast before surgery starts in 15 minutes. Just enough time for a small Black Bush I think.

Seriously, post-surgery, keep trying to play. That will be a great gauge to measure your progress. Best of recovery, my friend!

After reconstructive surgery my sternum broke apart again. I had broken wires coming out of my chest and I could hardly lift a gallon of milk. BUT I kept playing. The healing process goes faster when you do what you love and makes you happy. Trust Me! My last operation they took out my entire sternum, replaced it with gortex and kevlar fabric, but I kept playing, not so good ha ha but kept playing. I am now doing fantastic. I feel your pain, hope you get back playing soon. Ovation Plug it in

He had a lot of trouble playing his dread, so he played an electric for a while. If you have a super shallow, you'll be fine. Wishing you all the best. Let us know.

But it's nice to know folks around here have your back. BTW, without mentioning names, I want to publicly thank the OFCer who took the time to call and check up after my last surgery. It meant a great deal. Thanks again! I can't wait to feel a little less loopy so I can give a decent listen to the songs I've missed on "Song O the Day."
