I'll bet we have some real early and priceless strat's & les pauls in this bunch!.............perhaps some famous musicians previous owners? I have a short list to get it going. ---A beautiful 4080 Double Neck Rickenbacker in Azureglo Blue. Second month of manufacture back in 1975 if I remember right. This would be my best collectors piece I have ever owned to date. It was not practical for me to own, it was a total crowd stopper but I just could not afford to own it as the value was to high and I was scarred to use it. I like to play my guitars all the time. ---Rickenbacker 4001 Jetglo, 1977, this is one I could be using right now. Unlike the double neck, which I will never find again, I might replace this bass someday. It was the best sounding and playing bass I ever put my hands on. I am sick about how much these are going for now. they have doubled in price in 5 years apparently. ---Custom made Hammer Jack Blades 8 string bass in tiger maple blue. Al did this one for me. amazing piece of hardware. Monetary needs forced this sale. Will never get to own one of these again, that was a total luxury purchase for me. It was money not spent at the right time. Anyway there's a few to get this going. I have many more sales but these really stick with me and I think about them all the time. Randy

After the 90 collectors was gone i made a deal with myself, i will not get seller's remorse again. I have all kinds of stuff around here that's been bought and sold, but for some reason, guitars are the only thing i have remorse over. I never thought, damn, i wish i still had that amp or that keyboard, even those old analog synths back in the day. I think I just find the guitar the most expressive instrument, and some are pieces of art.

My Dad bought it new in '62 with meal tickets he saved during some of the 'canes and storms that hit that year. He paid $230. That was my teething git! It's still minty... I've yet to find another. Just packed up my CB SB for an adoption trip to Italy. I already have 'sellers remorse'. It was a professional work horse for the previous owner and has that open 'experienced' sound.

My 3rd guitar, a Gibson Explorer (1984?). It was on loan to a friend, and it was used as a weapon when he and his brothers got into an argument over a game of RISK. In place of the Explorer, I was given the Mosrite doubleneck eventually. Neither he nor I knew the value of it.

He also had an original Les Paul sunburst from the same era that he offered to me, probably a '57-'59, but I preferred the ES-125 because I was just a kid and neck was thinner, plus the LP was so stinking heavy to hold.

Even back in 1975 it was worth a lot of money, which I'm sure was why someone stole it. (I hope there's a special hell for people who steal guitars.)

I paid $100 in about 1968 for it, including the tweed case. I sold it about 5 years later (and thought I made a killing) for $150. The very first time I ever got in eBay, I doodled around to '62 Stratocaster and found one — admittedly in like-new condition — up around $8,000 in the bidding. Luckily the paramedics made it in time to restart my heart.
