Location: Caribou, ME		I'm finally getting the chance to pick up an Ovation I've been after for a couple months now. It's a mercy mission but that seems to be my specialty. The guy in California with the basket case 1983 prototype finally came through as to shipping.

We're not talking a lot of money here but I'm strapped. It would be easier if I dumped something of course. Probably my least desired ones in the roundbacks are a late 70s 1132 Matrix with aluminum neck and a Korean AA-31.

I did major surgery on the 1132 bridge and that worked out well. I roughed out a bone nut, it just needs to be slotted and final shaped. The rosette was broken with a chunk missing. I grafted in a piece of plastic and painted it black. Looks like crap. I've since received a new Balladeer style rosette and that would tart it up nicely. Not original of course but an 1132 rosette just can't be had "fer love nor money". If I were to sell that one, I'd just finish the nut, string it up, and leave the black rosette. No clue as to tone, as it's been apart since it came here and has been a back burner project. I suspect it will be on par with my AA-14s and I'm good with that.

The AA-31 was practically given to me on ebay because the top and bowl had popped apart. Repaired without incident. Plays good, not great, sounds good, not great. Not a stellar guitar but the blueburst is kinda cool.

I need to scare up $225 and I would be screamingly lucky to get anywhere close to $100 out of either of these. Although someone paid $200 on ebay for a blueburst AA-31 last month (not sure why).

Would you dump either, both, or just put the $225 on the card and keep them all?

Location: Utah		If you can't play em, get rid of them. You might be able to find a good charitable home for one or both, thus giving you a tax deduction to help the finances while still bringing joy to someone.

Location: Connersville, Indiana		String them up and donate them to your local school program, or like Winters said....Guitars for troops. Maybe a local church.

If you keep them they take up space, I don't know about your house but my music room is getting full. I could always make room for another Ovation.
