I sent the news and a few pic's to Brad several weeks ago when I acquired this pair...I took a page from a friend and traded several pieces of gear for these...I got a smokin deal from a friend who owns a music store and is always looking for quality trades...I knew Brad would like it: he did and I decided to share it with the rest of you who appreciate tone and vintage vibe. It's a 1994 Fender 1954 LTD ED 40th Anniv. (1916 of 1954) w/figured ash body and flame maple neck in a tweed center pocket case and a 2005 40th Anniv. Ltd Ed. Fender Twin Reverb in Blonde tolex in a Xcase Flight Case. Both are near mint and sound incredible. Here is a pic:

and the album:

Fender Tone Heaven

I am trying to endure my recovery...can't sing yet might as well play!

That's some mighty good medicine you got there. You'll be singing in no time if great tones have healing qualities. ;)

Really nice!

The instrumentation, that is...the (steroid-fueled) baseball home run race was, JMHO, a sad spectacle.

If the Strat and Twin Reverb are as "performance enhanced" as the aformentioned, they must sound GREAT together!

What an awesome surf guitar rig. That's a good amp to turn up to 11 and rock the garage. Congrats.

Definitely approved. When set up right, a scalloped Strat is arguably the most comfortable electric available. When paired with a Fender tube amp, the classic look is almost unbeatable. A Twin Reverb is one loud wailin' amp. Nowhere do I play that allows me to crank it up into its sweet spot, so I sold mine earlier this year. I have a Deluxe Reverb that does almost the same thing as the Twin with about 25% of the power (22 watts compared to 85), so I have a better chance of getting into its tonal premium. Even so, tube amps are just so stinkin' loud that unless it has a master volume control, I can't maximize that great sound. Like Bobbo, I grew up in Southern California surfing and playing surf music which doesn't require any grit, so lower volumes work. My rig for surf is a vintage Bandmaster (45 watts) with a '63 Reverb Unit and a '62 Jaguar with flat wounds. Mike, let us know what your congregation thinks when you crank that Twin up to 9 and lead off with some big rock riff. They'll be jumpin' those pews and shoutin' "Halleluhah!"

Nice pic Brad...better than some of the MI stores I worked at back in the day...I have loved the tone of a Strat (both of mine have non scalloped Maple boards) through a Twin for many years: I used a pair of 60's Twins (one with a JBL 15) years ago with the bands...the clean bell like tones are accessible at low volume and the addition of the reverb and tremelo allow many cool retro sounds; just add a cool sounding distortion pedal or Fuzz and Whoa Baby...as for cranking the Twin to 9 for the congregations, well I'd be thankful the flight case has casters as I would be sent riding it down the road I'm afraid...lol...if things get bad enough, I'll keep that thought in mind...As Al says, "if it's too loud, you're too old"!!!
One nice thing about the Twin is that it sounds great at any volume level...

The Tele is an American Vintage '52 RI. Great chimey tone for country. The white Strat is a '99 American Standard with SRV Texas Specials and a set up that I find perfect.
