It's a 1994 Fender 1954 LTD ED 40th Anniv. (1916 of 1954) w/figured ash body and flame maple neck in a tweed center pocket case and a 2005 40th Anniv. Ltd Ed. Fender Twin Reverb in Blonde tolex in a Xcase Flight Case. Both are near mint and sound incredible. Here is a pic: and the album: Fender Tone Heaven I am trying to endure my recovery...can't sing yet might as well play!

When paired with a Fender tube amp, the classic look is almost unbeatable. A Twin Reverb is one loud wailin' amp. Nowhere do I play that allows me to crank it up into its sweet spot, so I sold mine earlier this year. I have a Deluxe Reverb that does almost the same thing as the Twin with about 25% of the power (22 watts compared to 85), so I have a better chance of getting into its tonal premium. Even so, tube amps are just so stinkin' loud that unless it has a master volume control, I can't maximize that great sound. Like Bobbo, I grew up in Southern California surfing and playing surf music which doesn't require any grit, so lower volumes work. My rig for surf is a vintage Bandmaster (45 watts) with a '63 Reverb Unit and a '62 Jaguar with flat wounds. Mike, let us know what your congregation thinks when you crank that Twin up to 9 and lead off with some big rock riff. They'll be jumpin' those pews and shoutin' "Halleluhah!" ![]()

One nice thing about the Twin is that it sounds great at any volume level...
