I was asked to provide some back-up to a singer and guitar accompanist duo over the weekend. The accompanist played left-handed, but used a right-hand guitar strung righty. He had taught himself to play upside down while in college some 30 years ago. Although he was an excellent player, his fingerstyle technique put a lot of emphasis on the bottom strings, so much so that even the sound engineer couldn't remove it. He used his thumb for most of the treble notes and his up-pluck technique really nailed the lower stings. Interesting technique, to say the least, but too much bottom end for our liking.
