Wow! John Jorgenson is GREAT! Not well acquainted with Brad Davis yet, but I'm definitely a big Jorgenson fan!

Are any of you Northwesterners planning on going to the Yakima session? I'm going to be out near Seattle that week and would love to meet up.

Nevermind. I was wondering why they didn't come to Seattle. I see now that there's an event in Tacoma, aka "Stinky"

Does Tacoma still smell like a pulp mill? It did when I was there in the 60s. I guess I'll find out when I'm up there November 6. I'll try to get my daughter to go to the Tak clinic if she can make it on a Thursday night, so I hope the Tak people are as nice (or nicer) than the OFC.

The proverbial "Tacoma Aroma" is the result of still air in the Nalley Valley and output from the Asarco Smelter. The smelter has made upgrades to its emmisions and the remnant odors are less common.

I will be at the Yakima session on the 17th. I still need to get the time & location from the local TBM.
CL, shoot me an email, if you're coming. There's a Red Robin across the parking lot from the store. Great burgers!

Pretty durn good! Brad & John are phenomenal pickers, and pretty decent teachers, too. We had about 30 people show up (not bad for this mudpuddle), and an awful lot of reflected light off an awful lot of heads, if you catch my drift.
Brad suggested tying a dishrag around the neck of your guitar, to practice your right hand until you find a "homebase". Probably pretty rudimentary for many of The Faithful here but, being a natural lefty, not a bad suggestion for me. Apparently, he gave this instruction to a 72-year-old, retired doctor, and his 70 year-old lawyer buddy, who insisted they be given a lesson. Guess they got one, too! A whole month of repetition, at 60-beats-a-minute.
So, great outing, all-in-all. Didn't play the guitars. I was dead-tired, and hungry, so I just went home.
I will log into Brad's you-tube lessons, just to keep my memory refreshed. Good practice for my almost-complete, cedar-top, deep-bowl, wood-binding, custom-inlaid-rosette, 1122-neck, wide-saddle critter. OK, MWoody, what's a clever abbreviation for THAT?

First Draft - 95%SEE-DBWNCC1122CBNOPPCC, nah...

How about the C2/C4(Cedar, Custom Binding, Rosette & Saddle)...

Nope.

Knowing where you get your parts you can call it the C2C (Sea to Sea).

Sounds like a good time in Yakeemaw!

Did Crimson ever make it...

Succinctly:
Mark- unfortunate missed opportunity.
Mike- I like C2/C4, and RE: Crimson Lake- snowed out. Unfortunate missed opportunity, on several levels. Says he will channel MacArthur- "I shall return"

OFCwise, it was kind of a bust (and I don't mean Damon's guitar either). My flight into Seattle on monday morning was canceled, so I missed out on meeting Damon.

I now know what the Snoqualmie pass is and the little voice inside of me said "don't go there" last night as it looked somewhat snowy.

Chris is correct, I will be back. Our largest customer is based out of Seattle.

I did however get to meet my new niece in Walnut Creek on the way home... I'm sitting in SFO right now. Long week...

Next time you're in Walnut Creek, take a 10 minute detour south and swing by CasaBobbo.
