Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh) | I've upload some little sound clips of some of my guitars on my ning site, link below. That would be a very interesting thing to hear the guitars in real comparison to another one.
All guitars are strung with the same strings, all guitars are recorded with the same (bad) equipment in the same situation. This should not be a nice song, played fine with great effects. This should only be pure acoustic only sound of the guitars!
I'm very interested, what is the "best" sounding one in your opinion.

| These are always fun little experiments. I'll give the clips a listen later thru my studio monitors to do them justice.
Be prepared for questions and criticisms about how you recorded these, and whether or not you can make a valid comparison because they weren't recorded the "right way" (meaning how the person making the criticism would have done it).
In the meantime, thanks for your efforts, and I'll check in with my vote later. |

If you uploaded wav files or some other lossless format then it will be easier to judge them. |

But I think you can hear the difference of the sound caracteristics of the guitars and that is I want to tell you.

I've used my Sennheiser MD421 mic, the Shen Jr. as preamp to feed the mic, in direct out mode to the IDEA. The output of the IDEA to the soundcard of my computer. All sliders and poties are in the middle positions, all clips are recorded under equal conditions.

Location: Flahdaw | I didn't expect to hear much difference between them, and truthfully my ears hear only very subtle differences....not enough to say which I liked better. Maybe the 09c sounded woody-er, or maybe my ear likes the Koa tone, who knows.
I would have liked to have heard more gentle, clear strumming. On the picking, did you use a pick or your fingers? I could probably learn/hear more from finger picking than flat picking |
