Location: Utah | These are the guitars which are mine. Things got moved around to take the picture. My son's violin or mandolin usually hangs in the open space, Sara's Preacher is in the upper left hanger and one of her ukes is on the floor leaning against the wall. Her 12 string is in a case off to one side next to her keyboard. Her sister's T is frequently left in there.
I just pretend the room belongs to me. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | It's like a guitar capoed at the 5th fret. The strings are A-D-G-C-E-A from low to high.
OR ... take off the lowest two strings and it's just like a UKULELE !!! |

Location: Capital District, NY, USA Minor Outlying Islands | Tacoma used to make the A scale guitars. They called it a papoose and made acoustic and electric, 12 and 6 string versions. I have one, and love it. MWoody took one and made it better I guarantee.
It's great on it's own, or to fill sonic space on top of a regular guitar sound. It sort of functions like a uke as Gallerinski points out, or to my ear like a mandolin.
On a side note, I needed a wrench to adjust the action. I called Fender and they sent me one! So they are still supporting Tacoma which is nice. I don't know if they are making them anymore, but the papoose is a nice guitar. And the electric version is a lot of fun. |

Location: Utah | MWoody put a Koa top on the body of a Tacoma Papoose, and grafted an extension onto the headstock to make it 12 strings. The tuners are Ovation logo, and the pickup is an Arctec splittable humbucker.
Open chords sound like a traditional 12 string, but further up the fretboard it really can sound like a mandolin. |
