From what little I know, I believe there is a difference between how the top/soundboard is attached in the Adamas models vs. the standard Ovation models (e.g. Custom Legend). I am planning on having the top on my 1869 CL replaced with sinker redwood/center hole, reusing the rosette and carved bridge. I will also be reusing the neck since it's one of the reasons I've bonded so strongly with this particular guitar. The current top is badly cracked...repaired but spawning new finish cracks here and there.

My question is: Is there a significant difference between the two mountings and, assuming the Adamas rope style costs more, which one would be preferable in the case of my CL given the center hole configuration and bracing?
