Location: Utah | While wasting time in a hotel this week I caught a glimpse of an Ovation and got sucked into watching "No Opportunity Wasted". The segment is titled "Chicago High Note". It is an old reality series from about 5 yrs ago, currently showing on Discovery HD Theater channel.
Anyhow, one of the subjects is a lady named Imelda de la Cruz. Mid 20's, married, singer songwriter who's husband got her on the tv show. They staged a show featuring her at the Aragon theater in Chicago.
The cameraman and/or editor really loved her two Ovation Elites. They featured both guitars in many close-ups. One is a sunburst ssb with what looks like a collector's edition year inlay at the 12th fret. Great advertising for the brand!
Ms. de la Cruz seems to have been able to launch a bit of a career from the tv exposure. She sounds a lot better now than she did then, too.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I rarely go above the 10th fret, so I wouldn't have any idea. Maybe because they didn't want to make a different fretboard for the cutaways and non-cutaways? |
