Location: Michigan | any thoughts on what internet sites might have the best and truest chord sites for songs ? i have looked at chordie and some other ones and some of these peoples versions of songs that they posted must be from another planet . im not a great player or musician by no means but sometimes i wonder why some would even post chords to a version of some songs when they are not even in the same ballpark of the song.
maybe i am just whinnig :eek: :eek: but any suggestions on some decent websites for songs. :confused: GWB |

They were even better before they had to start dealing with all the copywrite issues and all the Beatles and other tunes got pulled. |

Location: Alagoas, Brazil | If you need Beatles (and other copyright restricted songs) there's this Brazilian site that carries them all - copyright law here is different from the laws in the US and allows this kind of publishing:

There are a lot other groups there, you only have to search ("buscar")what you want on the orange strip near the top. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I just serch the title and artist, and add lyrics and tab.
Sometimes it works, I wind up at Cowboy lyrics a bunch of others. Many are getting harded to get into. Mostly of late I've been working on Danny Okeefe songs. His web site has all the words and I can download them but have to listen and play along with the tune to the figure out the music side. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I like Chordie because I can change the font size to senior font before I print it, but then it's tough to keep it on one page. It pulls the same tabs from Ultimate Guitar Tab, which seems to have the biggest selection of the stuff I look for.
It's true that there are a bunch of tabs out there that are crap. When the intro says it's the guys first tab, I have to wonder why someone would bother. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Through the band, we are all licensed to download sheet music direct from the publishers which allows us to officially use copyrighted material in whatever key we want. We typically play it the key most comfortable for the vocalists, which may or may not reflect the actual recording. I also generally prefer the rhythm chart for guitar since it cuts the number of pages of music down from, say, 10 to 2 or 3. However, I may then need to ad lib the notes for leads since they're not always included on a rhythm chart. Our bass player much prefers the vocal score which provides specific notes for the bass line, but I'm more comfortable at making up notes. I tend to look at published notes as more of a suggestion than an absolute requirement. Of course, not everybody agrees with me. |
