Location: Jensen Beach, FL | ok, Takamine are Kaman/FMIC distributed and in some cases Kaman produced... does anyone know of a reputable service center for a neck reset? I'm assuming they don't service them in New Hartford.. I have an early 70's F385 lawsuit model 12string on the way, the previous owner says the neck is straight, but... the action at the 12th is about 1/4 inch....some of these had adjustable saddles, and some did not, so I may have some play there, or be able to shave the saddle down, and am hoping for the best... this is one of the early ones when they were sending some of the tooling to Kaman for production... but may even be a pre-Kaman model, it has the Martin Headstock and gold lettering and is a nice sunburst... would like to get it back into shape, and know no-one does it better than Jon and Kim and company.... but is there a close 2nd for a wonderful spa treatment as our Ovations/Adamii always get from them?
Thanks in Advance |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Takamines are Takamines... I don't believe that MotherShip will touch them.
They won't touch Celebrity's and I doubt that they will fix AX or TX.
Since Takamines are wood-boxes, I would assume that any competent Luthier could fix them.
Just like any other Martin, Gibson, Alvarez, whatever.
But some of them OFC Southern Folk may know some good ol' local boys. |
