Location: Germany | Hi out there,
I'm new in this area and I want to introduce me.
My nick is Nobbi (German knows what stand behind)
The first time I played an Ovation was in 1980 and it was an Electric Folk (?)but I sold it in 1985 :(
My new one is a ULTRA SERIES MODEL NO. 1515
SER-NR. 293436. Does anyone know the exact birthday?
Hope, someone replied my announcement.
(sorry for my humble English)

Might be a hard one.
From the Model Decoder 1515 Ultra 1987-1991
(You can find it by clicking on the reference at the top of the page)
The serial number indicates 1983 which doesn't match the production years.
That model was not manufactured in the US (probably Korea)so I'm tipping that the serial number is not relevent to the US production list.
Someone else here will probably know more.

Location: closely held secret | Ultras from that period were Korean. You can't date them by the serial. |

But if you can't date them by the serial, for what is it worth?
And the next question: is a Korean build less worth than a US made?
