It has been goal of mine for awhile to write and record at least ONE original song before I die. So I did this sort of pop song, recorded on my Tascam DP-008. I don't know anything about bass guitar, but I used a Casio keyboard on a bass setting to record that. I also found a rhythm pattern on the Casio that sounded good enough to use. Obviously a REAL bass player and drummer would sound better. Plus I suck at lead guitar. But this gives me an idea of what it COULD sound like if good players were on the instruments.
Anyway, looking for true, HONEST feedback so I can improve on songs 2, 3, and so on....

I agree with playing a real bass and either get a real drummer or at least learn to use the excellent virtual drummers that are out there.

Drums and bass would both sound better without the reverby/echoy sound (could be the re-recording through the Q3).

Vocals are really good and harmonies are spot on and the reverb on them gives a good vibe.

Overall a really nice tune and a great effort.

Tom Petty would be proud.

While you're dragging us through a minute of intros why didn't you tell us what guitars you used as well? What were they, Taylors? That why you won't show a picture? Or is it because of the pink shirt you're hiding? At least Pez has got a cool hat.
It sounds a little Fleetwood Macish without the real feel of it, I know it's just a drum machine and you sure ain't no John McVie.
Keep practicing, and don't give up your day job.

I'm getting a JJ Cale or maybe John Mayall kinda vibe out of that. Nice work. Sweet tone out of that Tele. Silky smooth all the way around. For a first effort it's pretty good but you gotta get rid of the casio drums and bass. But I'd like to hear it in a better format! Post an audio file someplace.

The song has a familiar feel to it and your singing voice has some really nice qualities. I'd like to hear this professionally produced. Heck, I hear crap on the radio all the time that's not this good.

ps. now that you've written and recorded one song, you need to revise your goal, i.e. "It has been goal of mine for awhile to write and record at least one more original song before I die." Don't want you checking out too soon. :)

Good job,
Nick

You need to hire PEZ as your promoter.

Nice song, well played, and as always a superb voice, but it could use a professional mix. Keep 'em coming.

Very well done.
Somebody above my pay-grade & experience may be able to find something to suggest you do differently... but that ain't me (babe).
Nice to see something posted that's worthy of the praise offered up.
Everyone deserves words encouragement but the superlatives should be carefully rationed and kept in reserve for efforts like this.

Wait... I do have a suggestion... more cowbell.

My 1st resolution was to finally write a complete song. My next resolution is to learn how to record. I know what I WANT to hear....I just don't know how to get there.
