Location: USA | How hard would it be to try and refinish my 1989 lengend 1756 myself. Are there any good how to's. I am handy and I have refinished an electric before with good results.
Am I crazy to try. Other than the top the guitar is in great shape. Mother will charge me at least $500.
Thanks?

If you go after it, invest in a new rosette, because the current one is cracked, and it will be in-the-way, to remove the topcoating. It's up to you, if you want to pull the bridge. May not be worth it, in the long run.
Best of luck, & go slow. |

On second thought, buy an "axe jacket", and be done with it. This is an Axe-Jacket on the Flame-n-Skulls Pacemaker...
Anything is possible. ;) |
