Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the Melissa Etheridge (Model 1597 I believe) with the Adamas II 12 string (like the one currently for sale here for $1200)?

Any comments on the tonal quality of the two guitars.

I know the 1597 is very easy to play and sounds great but have always wanted to play an Adamas II (but never had the opportunity).

Smooth tops like the 1597 are very, very nice!

Textured Tops are fantastic.

Differences are in how succeptable(sp) they are to the players technique.

I'm sorry.. IS THERE any comparison?

...Just kidding ... Like wood said... Textured tops are in a league of there own.

1597s are nice intruments also though.

SNAG THE ADAMAS II WHILE YOU STILL CAN! You won't be dissappointed!

For comfort and playability with amplification in a gig, nothing beats an SSB in my opinion. If your intent is to play primarily without amplification and size is not an issue, go for the ADII. Either way, I doubt you'd be disappointed. These are excellent guitars.
