Here are 2 A braced Legends on ebay, both from the mid 1980's. Before buying, you'd want to ask a lot of questions and get better pictures, but if I were searching for a great sounding, great playing Ovation and didn't want to buy an overseas built guitar, I'd probably get one of these.....

Watch out for the shipping fee on that 1117.

One could get a prefabricated house delivered for less

~Regarding O's on ebay - don't be afraid. Do your homework and there are deals to be had these days, as was pointed out above.

In late August this year I picked up a Glen Campbell Artist 1127-4 S/N F-962 in excellent+ condition, $471 brought it to my house. It was a consolation gift from my wife after my guitars were stolen. Anyway, in switching between it and a 1687-7 S/N 633 Adamas 1, to me the GCA more than held its own. While the Adamas is refined, smooth and full sounding, the GCA hits me as more immediate to open up and has that classic early Ovation tone. It's also easier to play owing to a less chunky and flatter neck profile...but that's another subject.

Great deal on the Glen! Mine was $400, and it's lovely.
