Hello!

Is SSB the same as what used to be Shallow Bowl? I'm guessing it's a newer invention? If you look at old guitars, the shallow bowls (from the 80's?), are, well...shallow....but if you look on O website, it shows the SSB...which is, well...super shallow..

So is the SSB a lot thinner than an old SB then?

Thanks!

Hi,

SSB = 4 1/16"
SB = 5 1/8"
MDB = 5 1/4"
DB = 5 13/16"
Adamas = 6 1/16"

Once ago I found this on Jerome's site....

I had no idea the Adamas was a full 1/4" deeper than than the DB O's.

Interesting stuff for sure! It's hard to believe there is any difference to the sound at all between a shallow and a mid depth...if all we're talking about is like an 8th of an inch?

Last Annoying Question

Aw... Don't make it the Last annoying question.
Annoying questions educate us All.

As to sound difference...
Shallow bowls were for the old Artist and Glen Campbell bowls.
They are Hand-Laid Fiberglas.

The Super-Shallow Bowls are injection-molded, or whatever.
So that contributes to the difference.

and according to Bernie's list, there's a 1 and 1/8 difference not just 1/8.

Cheers for that mate, I bet you're popular down the pub! :-))
I meant between shallow bowl and mid bowl. Anyone notice any difference playing these two?

Oops. Shouldn't have been reading and watching TV. The shallow or "artist" depth bowl basically became the mid and then they added the supershallow.
