I forgot to mention the most unique feature of this guitar is that it has a maple top with satin see thru finish.

I am sorry, Al. Did you recieve my e-mail requesting pics of the maple top S778. Haven't heard from you on this subject..... do you consider my request a personal attack? Hope not! I want to make things clear here:
This is NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK!!!

It is a request for pics!!!

Elias, Is it possible that you getting just a little sarcastic here? If so, might I suggest.... You have a lot of good knowledge. Knowledge that is of great value to many people here.... however, should anybody appear to disagree with you, you tend to get more than a little caustic. Is it necessary?

Frankly, I would have to say that you do throw cheap, personal shots at people.... and you pepper those shots with just enough insult to be personal....

In order to keep your knowledge available to all who might benefit from it in this forum... sans insults.... maybe you should go outside, take a nice deep breath of smog, come back to your keyboard, and contribute to the threads in a positive manner.... that would appease Al (with whom you have gone waaaayyyyy overboard) and it would allow you to continue sharing what you do know....

Just a thought.... if your ego is so large that it can't tolerate disagreement.... how will it tolerate being shut out completely.... I am guessing that is a possibility here...

just seems like such a waste.... get past it, man.

share your knowledge, not your anger.

Hey, Thanks Jim.
Are you close friends with Al? Just kidding! he, he, he, he
Well......allow me to answer:

1). Is it possible that Al got just a little sarcastic, as well?

2). ..however, should anybody appear to disagree with you, you tend to get more than a little caustic. Is it necessary?

Anybody?
You don't consider Al's responses towards me a "little caustic" don't you?
Only mine?

3). Frankly, I would have to say that you do throw cheap, personal shots at people.... and you pepper those shots with just enough insult to be personal....

Wow! You really like me huh? you even generalize that I do that "to people"!
All people?

4). You should go outside, take a nice deep breath of smog, come back to your keyboard, and contribute to the threads in a positive manner....that would appease Al (with whom you have gone waaaayyyyy overboard) and it would allow you to continue sharing what you do know....

Have you given Al the same advice?

<< share your knowledge, not your anger.>>>

Of course I can tolerate disagreement Jim!
By kindly responding to your comments.
Shut out completely? Very threatening! Horrible, I guess, but hey! what can I do? If the BIG BOSS(ES) decide so.
I would consider it very unfair I can say, and would find other venues and ways to.. .....go on, you know.

I only wish you told Al the same things though. I guess not. It's only me...

Well said Jim,

DR. E. It seems appearant that you have a problem with Al. As the Eagles said "Get over it"
And yes I have talked to Al about it and given him the same advice, he he he.
PLEASE let's just let this thing die and get on with talking guitars. You do seem to know your stuff and Ovation guitar history rather well. Much better to contribute to that.

I'm through with this subject.

I agree with cwk2. This is getting real old real fast.

Elias, I think everybody here wants you posting to this board. You're knowledge and insight are a real plus. Having said that, last weekend, I logged onto the sight and there were posts from you directed at Cliff and Al that made my jaw drop.

Let's all tone it down, not be sarcastic to each other and as that great philospher Rodney King said, "Can't we all just get along?". Ok, so that may have been the only smart thing ol' Rod ever said, but it was a smart thing.

I ain't gonna go here again. I wanna talk about guitars!

Al, just looked at your webpage. What's a phenolic top? Also, while I might not buy one of your guitars, I could be tempted to make a bid on the carpet! Ha! Just teasing.
