In search of the Glen Campbell Balladeer, six-string steel guitar, 1127-4 or 1627-4. Acoustic or Acoustic-Electric. Earlier models are with deep bowl, otherwise, most years are with mid-depth bowl. Any leads, ideas, suggestions, etc. are welcome and appreciated!

Other than E-bay and vintage-guitar websites, where might I conduct such a search?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, the two sources you mentioned are the most likely choices. They appear quite regularly on Ebay, or you could pick up a copy of Vintage Guitar Magazine where ther are lots of dealer ads as well as a large classified section in the back. The only other options are to find one in your local area, but that's a real 'wait and see' strategy and not very likely.

Good Luck!

Hi, Wayne...nice to meet you through the OFC! In your last post, you included a jpeg of the shiny bowl GC 6-string. Very nice! Hell, I'm thinking about framing it (the picture, not the guitar itself) and placing it on my wall near my computer!!!

Where can I find the Vintage Guitar magazine? That is a new one for me. Any internet links to that publication? In meantime, I'll do a Google.com search for that one.

Thanks/take care/In Ovation!

Hi Tommy, glad you liked the pic! It is a fantastic instrument and definately the centerpiece of my little collection. Here is a link to the vintage Guitar website which actually has a searchable classified ad database and a lot of dealer info as well, although you should pick up an actual magazine at a news stand in your area, sombody must carry them in your local. This way, you can check through the dealer ads carefully.

Thanks for the link, Wayne, and I'll check the local Books A Million and Barnes and Noble bookstores here to get a copy. In fact, I used the link to subscribe to the magazine!

Yes, that's a mighty nice GC prototype you've got. How did you obtain it? Later, dude.

Wayne: Somebody else has posted, on ebay, the ad with your guitar in it.

Hi Tommy, I got it from a very well known LA/Nasville session man (a monster player himself, I might ad) that anybody who has turned a radio on in the last thirty-five years has heard many times. He played on the "Goodtime Hour" for two years and Glen gave him the guitar during this period. They were very good friends before that, dating back to Glen's New Mexico days. This is who I got it from.

Hi Paul, yes I did see the ad but I just bought a bunch of old Guitar Player Mags and I hope to find any variations of the ad in these. There is at least three versions.
Could you, by any chance, identify any of the Goodtime Hour shows on the "Behind Fame" show?

www.gBase.com and The Guitar List are also two good search sites.
