I am looking at buying what appears to be a Legend via auction. The seller has no idea. I asked what the model was and she said it must have fallen off! Could some kind soul direct me as to where to tell her to look. Also I have no idea what the market is like. How would I value second hand Ovations?

Depending on the age of the guitar, the s/n should be in one of the following places:
1. on the paper label inside the guitar and stamped insode the guitar on the neck block (very old early 70's guitars)
2. on a small label inside the guitar located on the bowl close to the neck. It's unlikely this would have fallen off
3. stamped on the back of the headstock

Price for a used Legend will depend mostly on condition. I would expect to pay $400 on up. The electronics on the older ones tend to be pretty bad with age in my opinion.
