Location: Atlanta,Ga. | I went to a local music store that had a interesting viper.It is all mahogany body and neck.I have seen very few mahogany body vipers and even fewer with mahogany neck.Its in 8+ condition and they are asking $350.I did not play it..If anyone is interested call Midtown music at 404 325-0515(Atlanta)..Ask for dave and mention my name |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Here is another Mahogany Body one. I don't think I've ever seen a Mahogony neck on a viper either, but as we've learned on this board.. ANYTHING is possible. |

Location: SoCal | That Viper is exactly like mine used to be, with the mahogany body, the alder neck, and the pristine pickguard, before I put the Preacher Deluxe neck on and managed to destroy the pickguard. Damn.
But mine is a mahogany body as well. |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | I have seen the maple neck with mahogany body but i dont think ive seen a all mahogany viper.It appears to be all original factory.The serial number is in the 20,000 range so its late in production..Anyone interested ,call the store.I left the number on an earlier post...He's asking $350 but im sure he would work with someone on price.. |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | A late serial number and anything is possible. Someone recently asked me about a UKII which prompted me to lay all of my UKII's side-by-side and also look at pictures of previous ones... lets see.
- Single Jack on top / Dual Jack on side.
- Original Bridge / Schaller Bridge
- Gold nut, Brass Nut, Nylon Nut
- Neck with Bowties, Dots, or Squares
And I would guess that's not all of the variations.
That Viper sounds like a really good deal. I'm about to unload a few Vipers myself. |

Location: Tennessee | I have a late model Viper (E197xx) that is mahogany body and mahogany neck, ebony fretboard. All factory original, no "Viper" engraving on the pickguard. |

Location: Scotland | I thought I'd seen one all mahogany Viper but maybe not. Most of those Vipers with that dark brown finish & a maple neck are actually stained maple. The later ebony 'board solid finish versions could be anything. I have one exactly like the one in Mile's ebay link & it's maple. Mahogany has a much plainer & tighter grain than maple. Compare the figure on a Preacher or Deacon which are mahogany to a Viper. Better still, go under the pickguard or into the neck pocket and scrape off some finish... maple, betcha. |

Location: Tennessee | I'll do a double check when I get home. I have a clear finish on mine, and although a bit hazy now, the grain shows quite clearly. The color and grain is consistent from the body, up the neck and on the headstock, and I've thought it mahogany. But ... years of abuse have taken its toll on my brain ... :) |

My Viper is definitely all mahogany ... solid piece for the body and a two piece neck. S/N is actually E19984 so it puts it near the end of production. Guess Samova found the twin to mine.
I didn't realize it was a oddity; all I knew is that it is really sweet to play and it makes great sounds. |

Location: Virginia | Hey, I won the eBay bid on that Viper. Had it in 3 days. In excellent condition. Pickguard cracked around the output jack, but overall nice. This is my 2nd Viper. I'd like to get my hands on a good condition Breadwinner now.

I called Ovation and they wan $81 for a replacement pickguard - OUCH!

I'm thinking of getting a pearl white. Something lighter than the body ofr contrast.
