Hello everyone. I am looking for an Ovation 12 string guitar. If you have one that you are thinking about selling, please let me know. I would prefer an American made model in good condition. I see some on ebay, but I would like to try the fan club first. Please email me an tell me what you got. Thanks....Paul Hebert

I have an Adamas SMT 1598 12 string in incredible condition (manager at Guitar Center stated it as in "mint" condition when he inspected it for possible trade-in). It's been my "backup" 12 string (when I break a string on gigs), so it really hasn't gotten much play wear AT ALL. I'm really looking to move it.

Let me know.
John

Hi Paul, I've got a CS255 I repaired about two years ago. The peghead broke off and I spliced in a piece of black walnut, after I recut the bevel on the peghead. Yes, it is noticable. That's not the point. It's actually better than original, in terms of strength. Seems to have good tone and tuning. Electronics (OP-24) work great. Neck's straight as an arrow. If you MUST have it, I suppose I could part with it. Sounds like you're looking for a bit higher-on-the-food-chain model, though. Good luck!!

Dear Adamasguy~ You're in luck! As a pre-80's snob, I'm pretty partial to the vintage stuff. Here's a link to what I would guess is certainly in the arena...It's a 1615-1 slothead Pacemaker made during the pre-Korea Prime of Life in Ovations history...perhaps you can e-mail seller for additional info', history, photo's & cholesteral count, etc.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33029&item=2523975988&rd=1

It is in need of a battery holder, which the infamous mr.twistyhead has available for $1.00 NR,

Check `em out...neither has any bids as yet - so get set to snipe!

The deals are out there, so keep looking - I picked up another (`79) 1615-1 last week, and I think I stole it from the original owner (w/HSC & s/h) for three Fajitas (with extra sour cream & guacamole!)...Mmm Good! (!Muy Bueno!)

I would not only hold out for one of these sweet ladies born in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, but I think there's a noticable difference both on stage as well as digitally to the benefits of Vintage Warmth. Best wishes in your courtship...and Keep In Tune

Mike, I will let you know when she gets here. Are you sure she will not be suffering from homesickness? I will have to stroke her neck quite a bit when I get her. Damn, this is getting weird, I better stop! (hahahaha!).....Paul Hebert

It's Okie Dokie, Paul...don't forget you're e-chattin' with a buncha folks who can all relate to the phenomena of having an emotional relationship with an extremely complex structure of wood and steel (and a little lyrachord for good measure!)...

Some of us even "plug in", some only "do it" when no one's around, and those of us who've been doin' it for a long time, know it's (sometimes!) waaaay better than sex!

So, lighten up, (or as Traffic once proclaimed "Light up or leave me alone!), stroke away, and don't apologize for having a deep, loving & committed relationship. Besides, it'll never lead to alimony & attorneys. Happy New Now & Keep In Tune~ MisterGolf007

Actually our love could never be, because I've always been a 6 string kind of guy so I never gave her the time and attention she needed! She was looking for more of a commitment than I could give..........There were just to many STRINGS attached :D

Mike, thanks. I will be looking for that big UPS truck on Wednesday. I sure hope the Pacemaker 12 string likes it here in cajun country. I figure since it was made in 1981 the same year as my Adamas, they will have alot to talk about...Paul Hebert
