Location: Gig Harbor, Washington | Anyone out there need a spare set of Schaller-Ovation Chrome tuners off a 1972 1621 A/E Artist (serial# M619!)?!? Check em' out, and if interested I'll split the s/h/i cost with a fellow OFC member... here's the link a eBay:

Location: NJ | I think they were still using Kluson gears in 1972 or Grovers. I am not sure but I thought the schallers came later into the seventies. |

Location: Gig Harbor, Washington | Thanks for your feedback...check the photos on the eBay posting and let me (us!)know know your opinion...I thought these were Schallers - the do have the little Ovation "Roundback" logo on them.

| Gold Schallers were used on the Thunderhead as early as 1968, as well as the 1968 deep bowl Glen Campbell Deluxe model. However, although the same style tuner, they were somewhat fatter and rounder. In the 1970 and 1973 catalogs there are many photos of Ovations with Schallers; however, by this time they had been redesigned to a more streamlined style. Although not listed in the "official" Serial Number list, the M serial number is consistent with the year, as I had a 1117 (post Deluxe, pre-Legend) purchased in 1971, which also had chrome Schallers. |
