I am interested in selling my Ovation Hurricane #A-202. Years ago I obtained a letter from Ovation stating the rarity of this guitar and that only around 200 were made...to the best of my recollection. I have had the guitar since 1972. Would anyone have an idea as to the current value of this guitar?

Thanks!
Frankie

Hi Frankie,
Great to see a post from a Hurricane owner. I've got three of them that you can see in the member gallery. I've not seen too many of these for sale, so it's hard to judge what you could get for it. I would guess between $450 and $800 depending on the condition and how badly someone wants one. Do you have any pictures?

They're not worth even close to that amount. But to be nice, I'll give you $50 for it sight unseen.

Paul,
Thanks for the offer. But I will have to turn it down. BTW, where in my post did you see I was hard up and/or stupid?

Dave,
I looked at your pictures. My Hurricane 12 is just like yours except mine is Cherry in color.
When I get some pics I will post them.

Frankie:

It's a running joke on this board. And I also know people who think we are all stupid for playing Ovations. When I run across them, I go on dork patrol and step on them. So many dorks, so little time.

Of course, there are people on this board who will not have any comprehension as to why you'd want to sell this guitar.

Paul,
Ok I get it, I'll look for your check in the mail.
I will post a picture of my Hurricane 12. The reason I will be selling the 12 is that I lost four fingers on my left hand and it's hard to play with just a thumb.

No, just a joker. I'm not really missing any fingers. Consider us even. Not a roughneck nor a redneck...just a transplanted guy from the Bronx. I wouldn't mind owning an oil rig though!
