Location: Malaysia | Guys, I need your advice here. There is someone who is willing to part with his Ovation Legend 6 string for US$1000.00.
Been only used twice for studio gig. So what do you think? |

Location: Scotland | That seems high by USA standards but it depends on going rate & availability in your part of the world. If it's an older model you could find something comparable on ebay & by the time you paid shipping & taxes you'd still have a better deal. Check Al's site, he'll probably have something at a better price. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | $1000. sounds way too high. I recently sold one fo my Legends which was in absolute new condition for $400. I'm not sure what the prices are like in SE Asia, but in the US you can buy a brand new Legend right now for $1000. Dave |

Location: Malaysia | Thanks guys for your advice. So, I'll just call the deal off.
But then again, the mention of shipping and handling makes me a little nervous because shipping guys don't normally bother about handling fragile packages. And to think that I'm ordering it from Malaysia. |

Location: Scotland | A legitimate seller will not ship anything uninsured and I certainly will not, nor will I under-declare the value to save the buyer taxes & duty. I insist that the buyer pays for insurance to cover the item or the deal's off. When I buy high value items I insist that the consignment is insured & pay the necessary fees, even though as a buyer the declared insurance value determines sales tax & import duty. There's too many scam artists around to take risks. |
