Somebody sure did.

The color on this one seems similar to the color of my SlotHead. Kind of a "grey-blue". A lot of the other old Adamases I've seen seem to be a bit more of a brighter, deeper blue. Then again, ". . your camera and exposure may vary . . .". Besides mine, I really haven't seen too many old Adamases up close and personal, so it's hard to say. For some reason mine also seems to have an exhorbinate amount of that gold "glitter" in the finish than others I've seen in pics. Don't know why that is.

Cliff, I've seen personally 3 slotheads including yours. And they all have way more glitter than production Adamii, in my opinion. Not sure if this is by design, or maybe just my imagine. But they definately seem to sparkle more. It's even difficult to get a good photo of them because of the reflection off the glitter. Does anyone else have this same experience? Dave

The slothead adamas had much more glitter than the later production models. The three that ive had all seem to be dipped in glitter.Im not sure if the rest of you slothead adamas owners know this but the original cases on the slotted adamii were also sprayed with the same glitter paint as the guitars. It made for a wierd looking case..
It also seems that the earlier the production ,the more glitter it had.My 1978 adamas has more glitter than my 1981..It seems that the later the adamas ,the less the glitter.
Im not a big fan of the glitter and would rather they did not use it.Im sure the reason for the glitter was more "shine" under stage and TV lights.I would just rather not have it and plan to sand blast my slothead guitars to get it off.........LOL "Just Kidding"

Interesting point on the SlotHead cases, Sam.
I didn't know that.
Mine came with the supposed "original" case,
but it was just the original "baby shit" brown Ovation case.

By the way, the product year was 1981. #SN is 18**-95. It is hard to think that it was produced then season. How about "non glitter grey-blue" I have a big pict of this adamas, Can I put it on this site as IMAGE wth The following Instant UBB Code?

Cliff, everyone knows that the slotheads are worthless without the original glitter case..I would get rid of yours as soon as possible..Send it to me and i'll send you an elite T or a celebrity or something in trade..Of course you'll have to send me a few bucks to make up the difference since the value of the slothead(without original case) is far below these guitars im offering... :D

Cliff, i feel like your trying to "rip me off" .I could not possibly send an MOB.Those are far too rare and valuable..How about an early serial number slothead applause? Those are tone monsters!! Unlike the slothead adamas that sound thin..Its probably all that damn glitter that kills the sound..

Sam and Cliff:

You guys should be expelled from the OFC for trading outrageous funny and braggy lines over slotheads. As Cliff would know, I would trade my first born for his slothead. But I would gladly consider sending Cliff a brand spanking new MOB plus my first born.

To Al and Miles - please consider adding a new rule to the board; absolutely no bragging from slothead owners or the board will not be responsible for any crime committed against them by other members.

Thank you.

Just me and my "non-slothead" Adamas!

Michael;

You're absolutely right!
I feel very sorry and oh so ashamed.

I hereby promise to NEVER again use any type of frivolous or light-hearted discussions when it comes to SlotHeads.

.

.

. . . but let's just say . . . "hypothetically", . . .

.

. . . . exactly how OLD of a "first born" are we talkin' here? . . . . . . :D

Not a coincidence Cliff. The Bluebirds were painted by the same guy (Nick Mackin) who did the early Adamases, and with the same color/spackles.

Bill, i keep trying to tell Cliff the Slot head Applause's are the guitar to have. They will surpass the slothead adamii soon in value.Cliff is so hard headed he wont listen and trade me his slothead adamas for a rare, collectible, hard to find applause. The glitter gig bags are very cool also..

The glitter bags with the matching flower crack and peel stick ons.

So you're down to only 2 slutheads now Sam? Probably a good thing, people shouldn't have too many of them.
Might be interesting to see how many there are in this Old Farts Club. I got 2 and so do you, Cliff has one and there's one at the factory. How many more???
Wayne??
