Does anyone know if Ovation's Classical Guitars are any good? Which classical model is best? Are there other brands I should consider?

What kind of music do you play? Plugged in or acoustic? Your needs and desires go a long way in determining what kind of guitar is best for you.

I love my old Rx-7, but having a wife a 2 kids dictates that I also have a sedan.

If you want a guitar for a classical repertoire look elsewhere, the heavy construction of Ovation nylons means that tone & projection acoustically does not compete with traditional classical guitars. If you need an amplified nylon-string for jazz, latin, country or other styles any Ovation will do a fine job. The nylon-string Viper is a killer guitar.

I played a Martin 0018-C for some 15 years and loved it, once I found the right set of strings.

I recently purchased an Ovation Concert Classic 1116 and love it. The Ovation does sound "different", but that is not necessarly a bad thing. The Ovation does not sound like your typical Spanish classical guitar.

A co-worker of my is an accomplished classical guitar player. He tried my Ovation yesterday and could not put it down. He said very good things about it.

Let your ear be your guide (and your wallet).
