The ad for this one says it's a Ovation 1624 Classical Acoustic/Elec. Guitar which I am pretty sure is a country artist. It looks like it will make someone a very nice nylon string guitar. I just bought an 1116 that I'm happy with so I'll be passing on this one.

What is the difference between the country artist and the more traditional classical nylon string? There is a black classical I'm watching and I'd rather have the better of the 2 guitars currently on Ebay.

Country Artist has 1-7/8 inch neck width and 14 frets clear. Classical has 2 inch neck width and 12 frets clear. Both have flat fingerboards. Dave

It depends on what "better" is for YOU my friend. Both guitars are fine instruments and have their place. What do you want to play on it? Would you like a nylon string guitar that sounds great but with a slightly narrower neck than a classical guitar? The Country Artist would be hard to beat. Or do you like the sound and room of the 12 fret necks and don't care about the extra 1/8th inch width? One is black, the other dark sunburst so both are "different" and a bit more unique in appearance. I think both are great guitars. It's a personal matter in this case based on your needs and tastes.

peace,
mark

Between Mark and StandingO (Dave), they covered the difference between the two models. From experience (I've owned both), I will tell you that the deep bowl classical has a better unplugged sound, both sound great plugged in. I bought my Country Artist (w/ cutaway) because for years, I've attempted to play Jerry Reed's stuff and feel the narrower neck and greater fret range is better suited.

As so often is stated here, you need to determine your needs and work forward from there for the right guitar to buy.
