When they first came out, 20 years ago, they sold for just under $1200, MSRP, probably less in most stores. I can't tell you what to spend on one. In my opinion, they compete with guitars selling for $1000-$2500, new today. I consider mine to be one of the finest guitars I have ever played and would never consider selling it. It's my "forever" guitar. Like most Ovations, they are underappreciated and under priced. Good luck.

I'm holding back because the selling prices are low right now. It does look like they might be sneaking back up again. I put the 1973 Glen Campbell 12-string on about 1 month ago. $300 and no reserve. And in very good condition. I didn't get one bid and it went through twice. Bradley

Anyway, there is a 5 inch crack from the bottom edge up, and a few 2-3 inches cracks around the edge. One tuning key is missing. Guess how the guitar was treated in the past 16 years. Ask the seller to check whether there are any cracks on the ivoroid fingerboard binding. Collector at your level should get a better guitar.

So, all i had to go on was her discription..She made it sound like laquer checks, not cracks thru the wood.Anyway, she was selling it to me so cheap i was going to use it as a "knock around" guitar in my office..I have not sent money off yet anyway,so its good i posted here..Thanks again and i still want to see pics of it .....
