I could have had a $3500 Balladeer for only $900 INCLUDING a football shaped label with a building on it!! With all due respect to the seller, where does this kind of information come from? The seller either thinks the eBay Ovation market fell off trucks, as Peter observed, OR some dealer took him to the cleaners. I have heard comparable spiels in the state to the east of me (Iowa) these last weeks.

If the guy gigs as much as he says, he must be more musically articulate than he is literary. I suspect he still has the guitar... *********** Peter, Congrats on your score. Anytime you can get even a fairly recent USA made Ovation 12 in great condition is an excellent deal.

Mike :rolleyes: | ||

I find no indications or evidence to support the inflated value placed on this instrument, either. Probably explains for the comparatively caustic, and defensive, posturing of the seller of this "vintage" instrument. Caveat emptor, Chris

I wonder if the dead Stevie reference is supposed to be SRV? Because Jimi was a close personal friend of mine and he told not to buy from people like this. I don't know about you folks, but I'm certainly impressed.
