I have a Breadwinner Limited whose serial # seems inconsistent with the serial # database. It is E 17194. The appearance is EXACTLY that of a limited, but I thought Limiteds are #E plus FOUR digits not five. Any ideas, ...anybody? Can send a picture if you want.

An E plus 5 digits is correct for a solidbody made from 1975-80.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure that it was manufactured over such a long period. Thought it might have been available for only a year or so. Would love more info from anyone who can help a newbie to the club.
I acquired this guitar from a friend in Texas who sold it to me for $26 in 1997. It was simply the postage price for mailing it to me. Not bad ROI I guess, eh??
Cheers.

That may be the deal of the decade.

Ovation has never, with their regular production guitars (I know, somebody will point out that Adamas and Elite guitars don't fit into this catagory) just numbered all of their guitars (at least from the early 70's on) sequentially. So your serial number just tells when the guitar was made and that it is an electric. All the electrics (solid bodies), regardless of the models, had sequential serial numbers.
