I am wanting to sell my Ovation 12 string guitar. It is a model 1615, around a 1967 year. It may be called a Pacemaker. It has the five piece neck. I have a set of light guage strings on it which makes it very easy to play. It has one blemish at seven o'clock near the edge of the bowl about a quarter of an inch long, other than that the instrument is in excellent shape. It comes with the original hard shell case which says ovation on it and a stretch type capo, it has the built in electrical pickup. Can I get $600.00 for it? We shall see.

Welcome to the board. You might decide to keep your guitar after coming here. People have a reasonably high opinion of them. Wander around the website and go thru the archives. You'll learn a lot about your guitar. Key search words should be "Pacemake" and "1615".

A couple of observations. First, since your guitar is an acoustic electric, it would have been built in 1972 or later. Ovation started building a/e's in 1972.

Second, $600 may be a little high. I've seen them go on ebay for $450-$550. But it's all a matter of the right buyer and seller crossing paths at the same time.

Good luck with your sale.

Welcome Roger,

I second what Moody said. As a previous owner (steward?) of a Pacemaker I can say they are wonderful examples of craftsmanship and design. The only reason I sold mine was to step up to another example of fine C&D! You will probably see an ebay sale of between $300-$450 is my guess. You would be better off just getting another or trading if you want something different.

Do a search on 1615 and see what comes up!

Peace

Roger,
Which finish is it and what are your thoughts on price considering the "going" prices as mentioned by our esteemed colleauges. I am looking for a natural finish but I think $600.00 is high.
