Paul B,
Al tried to say he thinks all the pick-ups are the same! Moody said if there is more than 3 pick-ups he's screwed! And I think cruster is lost on the interstate somewhere!

I never said Al was screwed.

There were three p/u's used during the late 80's and into the 90's. There was the original one,and two that were thin line. These were the saddle p/u's. If we're talking preamps, there were a ton made. But only (to the best of my knowledge), 3 p/u's.

There is the Hi-Output (orignal), the Tru-Balance (thin and compensated) and the Thinline. This is from the 2003 catalog.

Here are some Pics to help clarify:
Bridge on an FET3 O

FET3 controls

Paul, I have neither. There are a couple of "assortments" on ebay right now.

Is that the same pup that was used with the OP24? Looks remarkably similar to the saddle on my O.

I think he needs the original. As far as the originals you want the mono one Paul. If you go left in Nogalas you'd come to the factory that made these.

As I break into a rousing rendition of On the Road Again in my best Willie Nelson imitation voice (which sucks, making it a good thing you can't hear it)... Thank you, all. I think I have a direction to take.

I called my Ovation tech. He has an extra pickup in his parts box, so I took the guitar there. I will let y'all know how it turns out. Thanks for the help, and I learned something new.

UPDATE: the pickup my tech has is a thinline, and I need a wider one. So, I am back to square one.

You told me to email you or KK. I went directly to the source and got what I needed -- which is on the way. Sorry if you feel slighted, though you were definitely my next recourse AND I do appreciate the offer.
