I've bought 2 Ovations since then, but still have that bit of solidbody GAS. The BIN makes it really tempting. I'm just not sure how this one is gonna sound with the Mods. I also just bought a 12 string. My wife is pretty supportive of my guitar habit, but buying this one so close the the other one will probably cost me new furniture! Of course, if I agonize about it too long somebody will probably hit the BIN first.

I am not sure that you can have a working phase switch without some sort of power. If you really want an all original I have a nice Deacon for sale.....but definately more than the BIN on this modified one.....course it is a deacon vs a BW.

I originally purchased a Black Polane BW with air Norton's, stripped it and added a NOS 12 string neck and Phat cats. then got a red body from Miles, stripped it and got another NOS neck from Mother and have the second D12. I have the circuit board and will soon have the pups to restore one of these to "original" sound. This would be an excellent launching pad for a great guitar! They will only get tougher to find!

Probably more than I want to spend on an electric right now. Nice Adamas(es) you have for sale too! Woody, If I had you talent, skills and patience for working on guitars, I'd grab it in a heartbeat. But I'm sure I would never do any mods personally.

I went furniture shopping with my wife and every thing! At least she has the new couch and loveseat picked out, when I'm ready to buy another guitar. My name is Greg, just joined the forum and found this post. I joined because as I sit here I have fully disassembled that BW. I took it into my tech as soon as it arrived and he did an amazing job. I was planning on turning this guitar around and then I started playing it... My wife keeps asking- when are you selling the ugly one? ;) So, a couple of reasons why I'm posting. A. Don't believe anyone when they say it retains it's tone... etc. The humbuckers that were gouged into this BW are pretty awful but the playability is what is making me love this guitar. I've never heard sustain like this before. b. When the butcher that owned this before me took out the original pups he said you could still coil tap it. The coil switch was not hooked up properly. My tech got it working with the passive system but both pickups must be on. c. tucked in the description was something about the pickguard having a small piece missing- yeah the entire bar below the neck pup! I just bought a replacement pickguard from WD music products. It's silver anodized- kind of like a cloudy mirror. I didin't like the black pg because the white detail was too thin. So my main reason for posting is to find the stock pickups and electronics. I'm flirting with putting my sustainer circuit in this thing if I can't find the electronics. Any leads? Also, can someone email me or post any alternative pickups that fit the BW pickguard? Thanks! Greg

All you can do is read the description, look at the pictures, ask questions, trust the seller and hope for the best. Things worked out well for me, a few weeks later I bought a Country Artist that I absolutely love! One of these days I'm still going to get a Deacon or a Breadwinner though! Welcome to the OFC!
