A dumb OFCer (me) did it again: cracked the rosette off my Legend when "working" on it with my fat forearm. Like Momma said: Pulling out fast just doesn't work.

The rosette is OK just detached all the way 'round. What GLUE do you advise? Burns favors Gorilla glue. But then again, his rosette is fine. Never met the gorilla.....

Ya keep this up and ya risk !

Gorilla glue is great but I won't use it on my gits due to the clean up issue. It swells and will pressure seep out from under the glued item.

I'm sure that others will have more beneficial info.

Good luck, 'fat arm'! :D

When you break glass to unlock a door or window (this is basic B&E stuff here), you never cut yourself reaching in. It's when you pull your arm out that you invariably get sloppy and slice yourself open.

Aren't you guys glad I'm back?

I believe any decent superglue will work. I wouldn't use Gorilla glue. It really does make a mess. The key to making it stick though, is to get all the old glue out of there. Glue won't stick to old glue. You'll have to be very careful getting the old glue off of the rosette though. You might scrape the design off. If worse comes to worse, just scrape the old glue off of the guitar, and order a new rosette from the factory.

Has no one repaired their rosette? Super Glue? Epoxy? Gorilla? Elmers? Some genuine Jackass Cream of Horse?

I'll try to be serious here... And I have never done this...

Is it a Good Abalone Rosette or a Cheaper version?
Either way, I think that I would use Super Glue.
Why?...
Because I would only use about six or eight little drops, so there would be no squeeze-out mess.
Also, you could probably get it back off if you screw it up.

I would check-out Stew-Mac repair tips...
They will probably not have exactly what you want, but they may point you in the right direction.

And they really like Super-Glue, they just call it Cyano-something-or-other.

DON'T use Gorilla glue.
It expands like crazy into a foamy mess.
I know from experience... I fought with it when I assembled the OFC Member Of The Year Trophy.

For the right kinda job, it's great.

Your 'laxative' is on the way. Expect a week to ten days for arrival.

Walgreens mineral oil 16 oz. - $5
Shipment to London, England - $14
Mending international relationships - too damned expen$ive
Aiding a fellow OFCer - 'effing' pricele$$!
That's the kinda stuff that someday will get you on the ballot!

I like Franklin's Titebond Liquid Hide Glue.

Available at most hardware stores.

thin cyto acrylic. Any scratch in the rosette where it's black ... matching nail polish.
