I find it interesting that all of the DS-768 seem to have a top that appears as almost two distinct grains of wood.

The one I just sold to Bobby was this way and the one on the bay looks just like it.

Must be part of the secret recipe!

Be interesting to see how high the bids go. The auction ends next wednesday afternoon. The last quality Longneck sold around the $800-900 range...

I remember seeing that handle before too...As far as the Adamas Longneck, does anyone have one besides Preston Reed? Does it use a CVT or SMT top? I think the longscale DS-778 mid bowl would provide a good variety of acoustic responses depending on the strings used....An Adamas model longscale would have to cost what, a couple thousand bucks?...at least?...

Ya know, I have known woody and his ebay name for a few years now but it was just this minute that I finally figured out what the heck the name meant. I assumed you were a fisherman or something ...

So you're going to let me wait a few years to figure it out?

Think Mark. Grade School, Nuns, rulers, sore knuckles....

It will all come back to you. That is, if you were paying attention.

Matthew 7:7-10 (NIV)

Ask, Seek, Knock
7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

A simple reference to the fact that I have been given what was needed out of fatherly love. Lower Case for humility.

Apparently I don't "need" this Longneck.

For now...

When Dave said he figured it out, I never suspected a biblical reference.

The Longneck sold early on a Buy-It-Now for $750 to the previous high bidder...

All I know is when I brought up the listing, it said it had been re-listed. When I clicked on the relisting it came up as sold on Buy-It-Now for $750. Which surpised me because I thought that particular Longneck was nice enough to bring big bucks from a 9 day auction, and it was the only Longneck on ebay...go figure.

I suspect a side deal was made, and the buyer and seller did it through eBay to assuage their guilt.

Yep. Sounds about right. A quick $750, maybe he needed the money...maybe the guy who bought it will turn it around on ebay this summer, it's a unique instrument, not alot of those out there...
