Let's not get in too generous a mood here, or I'll end up giving mine away to one of you. I believe you Ernie. See the other thread.

I was in the middle of an offer posted on the OFC to sell a particular nutmeg electric - I immediately put in an offer and bought it. Another OFC'er had posted months before that he needed one of that finish. I had sent the money order, he reimbursed me and we had it sent to Sin City. Everyone was happy. Later, I found another one.

It is what it is.

I can hardly answer Ernie's e-mail in my jammies while I am sleeping. Yes, there is a three hour time difference as you pointed out.

Ernie. I read your e-mail at 7:35 this morning. You sent it at 4:33am. If you knew there was a time diff, why would you not allow me to e-mail you back? The GC said you called at 8:30am. I missed the memo that I had to answer you within an hour.

That is all I am saying. You asked me about it but then called to purchase the guitar. Whether or not you even read the thread, really means nothing.

I'm not trying to pick on you. I just think that it have been proper to wait for a reply, as you knew it was posted to others as well.

I would not be surprised if a newbie here took advantage of my location being posted and called information. However, a veteran like you, knows that would be not nice.

Peace..

Seriously Norseman, I'm 3rd in line.

Mike is 1st, then you.

Still haven't heard back from Mike. One of you two needs this guitar. I would send me your address. I'll wait to hear back from Mike for the remainder of the day to reconsider.

It will probably take a week for the guitar to get to me, but I'll ship it right out.

I appreciate the kind words.

Ernie

I had to actually attend to work, then I had to figure out which string to post in.
first let me address Dave's post:

Please visit Dave's latest website for Global Warming where 30% of all profits will go toward buying eco-friendly canola oil based gasoline for all the protesting Bhuddist Monks in needy countries. Geesh, Dave! Quit picturing me in shorts?

Ernie - I can understand GAS and I have on occasion jumped into the fray before reading the right posts or knowing what was going on. You shouldn't have to leave the table because you used the wrong fork.

If someone spots a gem in a store and asks if they can get it for you, you shouldn't track down the store and buy it without talking it through. Busy schedules and time differences can add a lot of stress but it should have gone differently.

That said, I relinquish any hard feelings, guilt trips, quivering lower-lip, poor me actions, poisonous posts and bad feelings on my part from this point forward. I do this for totally selfish reasons. I am guilty of assumptions in this case so I want to start over.

I will only ask that you to buy me a beer at the Tour.

Of course, I will ask that of everyone more than likely. That and any uneaten pizza sitting around.

Follow through and get the guitar. Play the heck out of it. enjoy it

If I've help to ruin it for you I am sorry.

If you just can't - send it to Norsey. He tolerates children all day and needs an outlet. I think he might want it (!!!) and there needs to be more artistic expression in Minnesota!

I'm over it. Join me.

I'll buy you both two beers, if you thumb wrestle blindfolded and naked for the last piece of pizza.

Pokey, I see what you're saying the more i try to put it in your perspective.

I guess my thought process was this:

I saw the post and only read the main message and a couple of messages after. I took it as an FYI for this great deal, and a generous offer from you to purchase and ship it.

I emailed you, then left the office.

As I'm sitting in the meeting, i thought, just call GC, see if they have it, and if they do, then just buy it. saves you all the effort of buying and shipping, etc.

I called them at 930am at the earliest, i know this because it was at least 1230pm here when i got out of my meeting, and it was probably later than that. not sure why the salesman said 830. i know i wouldn't have even tried to call that early. our local store opens at 930 at the earliest.

the guy answers, and i ask if they have stock of the 1713, he says yes. I say that i heard from the OFC that it is 250, he agrees and I buy it.

I come back from lunch, and the poop hits the fan on the forum. i read the threads and i say to myself 'holy sh!t !!, people have already made deals on this guitar.

I try to type as fast as i can to respond. I see my name in CAPS on the title, and it's not a good feeling. I call GC as i'm typing to cancel the deal, but to no avail.

The only thing i can do is what is right. my integrity is more important to me than a guitar. and i have enough of them to play.

mike and norse should have the 1st rights to it.

if they both refuse, then i will keep it and feel good about it knowing that i did everything i could to make it right.

Pokey, as much as I hate to butt in (anyone here can tell you that), please give Ernie the benefit of the doubt. I've been hanging around here a little over a year, trying to bring a little panache to the place, ya know, and though there are a few members I would suspect of doing what you're accusing Ernie of, he's not one of them.
It's a proven fact that GAS can seriously impair one's judgement and ability to make thought-out decisions.
Now cut the guy some slack or I'll come down there and convince your husband he really does need that fence.

Ernie, just send me the 1713 in liue of the payment we discussed.

Ernie,

I'm sorry I was such a bitch. I really am. I truly apologize.

I put some meetings on hold this am and went to the GC at 9am. They were closed and I returned back at 10:30 and I talked to Mike in the parking lot until the doors opened. I was really excited. I had made plans to go buy shipping stuff and was really happy.

When the GC dude walked up to me and asked if I had posted it, my heart just sank. He said, "It's gone!" I was devestated and I really felt sniped.

I should have e-mailed you and not posted that you were a loser. I am sorry. You are not a loser.

See what I mean about words longer than 4 letters?
That ebonics is a real conversation killer, Dave.
